Welcome

Welcome to Paws and Claws Adoption Center, a division of the Platte Valley Humane Society.

The Platte Valley Humane Society was started in the 1970's and was incorporated in 1979. Their mission has always been to promote education for the humane treatment, care, and adoption of animals; and to obtain joint efforts from all to aid and protect animals. Up until 2007 all work with animals including their housing and daily care had been all volunteer done out of their own homes. In 2005 PVHS bought a local veterinary clinic that had closed and began the process towards open the Erna Badstieber Paws and Claws Adoption Center. After two years of reaching for the goal of having an actual building, the Adoption Center opened January 2nd, 2008. We currently continue the work of housing, re-uniting, and re-homing animals as an extension of the PVHS.

Our Mission Statement:

To promote education for the humane treatment, care and adoption of animals; and to obtain joint efforts from all to aid and protect animals.
